It has already been widely reported that President Paul Biya’s travels are very very expensive. According to an informer on phone to alafnet.com last Sunday the C.S Aviation Company (the company which provides aircraft for President Biya’s travels) has confirmed it will be sueing Cameroon for breach of contract and for its unpaid bills,in an address to Mr Minister Director of the Civil Cabinet requesting payment.
The news has been received with mixed feeling in Yaounde with Some member of the CPDM government expressing wories why the rental company which provides plane for Mr Biya’s travelcould not have been paid for some years now.Our informer in Yaounde reports ‘ and the bills keep pilling’.Our investigation in to the matter has been further accelerated by other sources including Patrice Nouma,Seme Ndzana,Mohamadou Houmfa not forgetting Boris Bertolt of cash investigation.
The CCT headed by Mr Nouma evaluated the costs of presidential trips in terms of immobilizing the aircraft for these trips at a figure between 50 and 70 million CFA francs a day paid by the Presidency of the Republic to rent planes for the head of state.The wrote that sometimes the money is goes in vain when the plane is not used as was the case in 2012 during which the Presidency of the Republic requested the company C. S. Aviation to charter a plane. The chartered Boeing 767-200 plane spent two days in Yaoundé (16 and 17 October 2012) because of a planned trip that was canceled but the company still charge 150 000 Euros( about 100 million CFA francs). As can be seen in No invoice (Invoice number) 07/10/12 22 October 2012 below,
What must have caused the Presidency of the Republic to be unable to pay rental bills for C. S. Aviation?
For almost 4 years the Presidency of the Republic has been flourishing in cash as Mr. Biya has always used gains from the Hawk operation and even money from the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH) to the tax payers expenses to finance the expenses at his palace.Now,fingers point at Belinga Eboutou who received this bills but did not pay.it is also reported that he is involved in many twisted and embezzlement shots of which Mr Biya has been warned about by his closest allies who have name Belinga ‘the Snake in the house’.
The CCT notes that the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon, represented by Martin Belinga Eboutou, owes just over 1 billion FCFA francs in debt to the C. S. Aviation company. They continue that in a country of robbers one of Belinga’s accomplices in the management of this case was the collector of the Embassy of Cameroon in Paris, Christophe Ketchankeu who is known for his financial insolence. Besides keeping the coffers of the embassy in Paris,he handles most of the transactions binding the State Cameroon to French companies.
The following receipts confirm Martin Belinga Eboutou diverted funds destined for C. S. Aviation for their service to the presidency during a few selected period.
- 615 000 for 3 day rental from 21 to 22 October 2010 and 13 November 2010;
- 150 000 for a rental of two days on 16 and 17 October 2012;
- 800 000 euros for 5 days rental from 21 to 25 May 2013;
- 480 000 euros for 4 days rental from 27 to 30 May 2013;
- 720 000 euros for 6 days rental from 31 May to 5 June 2013;
Most interesting, it should be noted that if for only 5 receipts , President Biya has spent more than 1 billion FCFA alone for aircraft rentals, one wonder how much the overall cost of his many private visits he has a year at taxpayer expense.
If the complaint of C. S. Aviation is filed in court, the main contributor of the President of the Republic who dragged the image of our country in to mud,Some free thinkers think that for the little honor and pride that remains of the Fatherland, the head of state should immediately get rid of this financial offender who serves as Director of the Civil Cabinet.
At a time when budget cuts and the fight against corruption, the head of state should have been surrounded by honest employees instead of notorious prebendaries regularly indexed by the press. besides Cameroonians expect example to come from the top of state in controlling of expenses,sadly too in another development,recent reports confirms Cameroon’s first daughter, Brenda Biya rents an apartment of 13 million FCFA francs per month and, according to his own confession , pays a fee of $ 400 taxi “all the time”.
